I was born in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, and spent my childhood surrounded by verdant nature.   It has been about 13 years since I served as the chairman of the curatorial committee of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, but I have decided to retire from that position. I would like to inform you that a new staff member has planned an exhibition to mark my retirement. The exhibition will feature works selected from the vast collection of photographs that document the people and events I have encountered since coming to Japan in 1980, so please come and see them.
