It has been about 13 years since I served as the chairman of the curatorial committee of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, but I have decided to retire from that position. I would like to inform you that a new staff member has planned an exhibition to mark my retirement. The exhibition will feature works selected from the vast collection of photographs that document the people and events I have encountered since coming to Japan in 1980, so please come and see them. It has been 19 years since the birth of “OYAKO Day”, which depicts the joy of everyday life with a dream for the future. I am grateful to the many people who have helped to successfully complete this year’s “OYAKO Day” activities. Working together has given us a strong base and deep roots as this project reach for the sky. I am dedicated to working hard for the continued growth of “OYAKO Day” in the coming year.
