This year\u2019s \u201cOyako Day\u201d falls on July 27.<\/p>\n
For the 19th Oyako Award, we have selected the parent-child duo of Ittetsu Morishita\u2014a photographer who has spent nearly half a century documenting atomic bomb survivors and advocating for nuclear abolition both in Japan and abroad, as well as the founder of the NPO World Hibakusha Exhibition\u2014and his daughter Miho, who has inherited his mission.<\/p>\n
\u201cOyako Day\u201d is a day to reflect on the bonds of life and their importance through the close relationship of parent and child. Marking its 23rd year in 2025, we present this award with deep respect to these two, who continue to communicate their wish for peace as a parent and child.<\/p>\n
